You can also get statistics on your emails from Google Analytics. You can easily set this up directly in our system:
You can make settings on three levels: Central (for all your Publications), per Publication or per individual email.
Central level
You’ll find the setting for the central level at the bottom left when you log in to Lime Marketing. Go to “Administration,” “Integrations” and finally “Google Analytics”. Switch it on.
Activate Google Analytics on all publications
Domains
Fill in all the domains you want to track in Google Analytics, and press “Enter” to enter more. If, for example, you want to follow all subdomains, you can enter wildcards. Examples of valid domains are: www.lundalogik.se, *.lundalogik.se, and *lime.tech*.
NOTE! Note that the asterisk must be included if you delete www.
Source
Identifies the source of traffic, e.g. Google or Facebook.
Medium
Identifies the marketing medium, e.g. email, banner or Google Ads.
Campaign
Your campaign name, e.g. a product or offer. Here is a good tip to use a merge variable for the sendouts name, $$message.name$$.
Publication level
To make settings at the Publication level, go to the list of your Publications. There, click on the pen icon to go to the Publication’s settings.
Publication settings override central settings.
Click "Settings" in the black top bar.
Here, you have the same options when it comes to settings, but they apply only to this particular Publication. If you don´t change or add someting the central settings will apply here. Shown in grey text. The central set of domains are written in italic.
Email level
You can edit an individual email’s Google Analytics settings when creating the email. You can also do it after you’ve created the email, but not after you’ve sent it. Either way, you do it under “Settings” while in the email.
Email settings override all other settings.
You can see the tags associated with an email when you see a preview or send a test email. In the email settings you can also set the Content utm tag.
How it works
With the google analytics settings ready and your values defined, Newsletter will look for links with one of your domains in and automatically add the utm parameters with the values you have defined.
