What’s the difference between Opt-Out and Total-Opt-Out?

If a recipient opts out, it means they no longer want to receive from a certain Publication, like a newsletter, for example, but that they still want to receive other information you send out. You must provide an opportunity to unsubscribe in all your emails. If your email is missing an unsubscribe link, you will see a warning in the last review step before sending out your email. 

If a recipient chooses to do a total opt-out, it means they have unsubscribed from all emails you send, regardless of content and purpose.

The system handles opt-outs automatically.
