It's important to remove unwanted data from databases to stay in line with GDPR guidelines. We have features that allow you to do this automatically. If you activate redaction rules, the system will automatically remove recipients by de-identifying personal data and other data that’s no longer needed every night. As long as they’re not blocked in total opt-out, recipients can be imported again if required.
If you’re an administrator, you can go to “Administration” using the gear icon and activate your redaction rules.
There are seven ready-made rules (this number may change in the future). When you activate a rule, you’ll see a more detailed explanation of what that particular rule does. Be careful to read and understand what the rules do so that you don’t remove too many recipients! You do NOT need to activate all the rules.
You need to set the time that each redaction rule will apply. Read carefully what each rule does! You can find explanations below. NOTE: You do NOT need to activate all the rules.
Explanation of redaction rules

Automatically delete email recipients who haven’t opened emails

Recipients who for various reasons never open any emails will be thinned out after the desired period.

Registrations for events normally contain personal data that shouldn’t be kept forever.
Automatically delete survey responses
This rule automatically deletes all form response data linked to surveys after the time you specify.
Responses to surveys or questionnaires may contain personal data, in which case they should not be kept forever.

Automatically delete email recipients in the hard bounce list

Note that this function works even if the email address is unidentified.
Automatically delete mail recipients that hasn't been updated

If you have an external system such as Lime CRM as your main source of recipients and a recipient is removed from the external system, then their details will no longer be updated in our system, and later thinned out.
